Questions
FAQ
Straight answers about borrowing against your slabs, including the parts that could go against you.
- Do I have to sell my card?
- No. That's the point. You borrow against the slab and it goes into the vault as collateral. Repay the loan and it comes back to your wallet, along with any gain in value while it was there.
- Which cards can I borrow against?
- Tokenized graded cards held in your Solana wallet, graded by PSA or BGS. Connect a wallet and the app shows you exactly which of your slabs qualify. We add support for more graders as coverage allows.
- Why does one of my slabs show a value but no advance?
- Some cards trade rarely enough that we can't establish a value with the certainty needed to lend against it. The slab is still yours and still worth something — we just won't lend on it today. That can change as the card's record fills in.
- How much can I borrow?
- Up to 92% of what the slab is worth. The exact figure for your card is shown in the app before you commit to anything.
- What do I get paid in?
- USDC or SOL, your choice, straight to the wallet you borrowed from.
- Where is my card while the loan is open?
- The physical card stays in the insured vault it was already in — tokenizing it is what put it there. The token representing it is held by the loan contract until you repay.
- Can I repay early?
- Yes, at any time, with no penalty. You pay interest only for the days you actually held the loan.
- What happens if I don't repay?
- At maturity an unpaid loan enters a grace period, during which you can still repay in full and get your slab back. After that the card is sold to settle the debt. Any surplus above what you owe is returned to you, and we don't chase you for a shortfall. The docs cover this in full.
- Can I be liquidated before the term ends?
- Only if the card's value falls far enough that the loan approaches the value of the collateral. You're notified before that point and can repay or top up to avoid it.
- Is connecting my wallet safe?
- Connecting is read-only. We look at which slabs you hold and value them. Nothing is signed and nothing moves until you actively take a loan.
- Can I check a wallet I don't control?
- Yes. Paste any Solana address into the app to see what's in it. Holdings on Solana are public — this just reads them.
- How do I earn $SLABS?
- By borrowing and by repaying, with the larger reward on repayment. Details are on the token page.
- Has $SLABS launched?
- Not yet. There is no contract address, and any token calling itself $SLABS today is not ours. The address will be published on the token page and announced from @SolSlabsXYZ first.
- Can I borrow right now?
- Valuation is live — you can see exactly what your collection is worth and what each slab would support. Loan origination opens shortly, and when it does the flow works exactly as it reads today.
